Well done Nigel... news presenter of the year.. AND RIGHTLY SO... His one hour slot at 7 every evening on GBNews is certainly not to be missed.... jacob next year fingers crossed. The other finalists in the category were Piers Morgan, Eamonn Holmes, Susanna Reid, Stephen Dixon... at the same awards ceremony that give "interview of the year" to Piers Morgan with Cristiano Ronaldo. tric.org.uk/winners/"As voted by the public"I wonder how many of them. IIRC there was a much longer list to vote for initially, but to be honest any award ceremony that doesn't reward the talentless, inane and pointless duo of Ant and Dec or Phil and Holly is much more inline with my views than the mainstream awards that do .

People in South Korea will shorty be getting younger.
The country is set to scrap the most widely used calculation method, which was the centuries-old "Korean age" system. Using this system a person turns one at birth and gains a year on 1 January. This means a baby born on 31 December will be two years old the next day.

What I don't understand (maybe Mousey can explain?) is how can our democracy and economy function well when justice takes so long? What is the deal with appealing and appealing and appealing? Surely the upper court should only need to get involved in very rare cases when some fundamental matter has gone wrong in the lower court - e.g. the Judge knew one of the parties or the Jury only had 9 people in it etc. The reality appears to be the appeal option is open to those with deep pockets as it gives the loser extra chances to win.

Or - and here's a radical thought... they should extract their finger from their rectum, and start processing asylum claims in a timely fashion? Y'know, like we're actually obliged to do by umpteen international treaties? I mean, it's a win-win situation, isn't it? Those who are genuine refugees get to rebuild their lives instead of sitting in stasis. Those who aren't get returned to their country of origin. There's no need for shedloads of expensive temporary accommodation. What's not to like about it...? (Unless, of course, the government's actual goal is to stoke division and hatred. Then the current indolence and inactivity makes perfect sense.)
