[/a]ay have got my switch back to a fix in not a moment too soon.
Remember your fix will be worth nowt if it's with a supplier that goes bust.. maybe the govt should increase the FIT rate then I will stop putting the immersion on when the sun's out
Yeah, one of two reasons I don't go for the new/small suppliers. The other being I want a long enough rack record to know whether their customer services are half decent.

EDIT: I'm sure the next thing we'll be 'told' is that it was an act of arson by refugees trying to get to the UK, or was an accident as said refugees criminally tried to charge their batteries on their electric battery powered rib. Presumably for the return journey ... back down the M20

Interconnector damaged and half its capacity likely out until March next year: UK power prices soar after key cable hit by blaze

Actually ended up as £2.50 on Thursday

Four more small energy firms could go bust next weekWell I'm hoping that Avro energy ain't one of them, since switch is due to happen Tuesday. Contrary to what I previously said about not going with the tiddlers or newcomers, it would seem that Avro is smaller than I assumed it was. Ummm.

Waiting to hear who my "supplier of last resort" will be. This is the third time this has happened to me.

Lets hope supplier transfer is a pure atomic action so we don't end up in some administrative limbo, or that they go pop on either Monday or Wednesday, but not Tuesday

My supplier, Utility Point went bust last week. Waiting to hear who my "supplier of last resort" will be. This is the third time this has happened to me. Important announcement for Utility Point members Utility Point is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, has appointed EDF as the new supplier for its customers. EDF will supply energy to all of Utility Point’s customers as of 18 September 2021. EDF will contact customers over the coming days and again in a few weeks when the transfer has been completed and their accounts have been fully set up.

In my experience of my energy supplier going bust, and there choice of supplier "edf". I just used mse website and switched "within 3 days of bust motice" to my choice from my old "bust" supplier. Balance moved over to edf, supply / billing went to my choice. EDF contacted me with standard hello letter, with new billing / web account details, just logged on checked details, contcted them via chat, explained im not there customer. balance settled no issues. nt Im sure there is a cooling off period or cancellation period.

There was an interesting report on Sky today.
Apparently the big energy firms hedge their prices by buying forward, whereas the small newer providers buy on the spot market. This allows them to offer lower prices in normal times, but their business model disintegrates as soon as there is a problem. Comes across as the same sort of short sighted business model that Northern Rock used.
Slow and steady wins the race.

Absolutely right. Sell today/buy tomorrow. Great buisness model, until it isn't.
