Well it wasn't considered good practise 25 years ago or 10 years ago, you have to make a fundamental decision with lofts, ie are they going to be outside the house chamber or inside the housechamber. All pretty well documented and as Mrs Bobo is a building engineer she is laughing at people who sprayed foam willy nilly.
Can't legislate 'gainst stupid

I Thought you said Mrs Bobo was a lawyer? either way i can only mention what i have seen on-line & Tv.My father was a shop fitter and builder i am guessing he would have known and said the same as you about covering under the eaves. But if under the Green revolution firms/experts/stupid people decided it was the way to go then that's what happened as it seems to have become a thing.Pretty sure surveyors & mortgage lenders are not issuing warnings based on just a few random cases (or its a simple case of fake news?)

I think current building regulations say much the same, but they are a bit impenetrable.

Really great and kind that you remembered. The wonderful Mrs Bobo has 3 degrees and is a Professional Engineer and Lawyer, the two roles work well together.

Someone Checked No Wall insulation Single glazed windows, apparently his response was it was too expensive Wall insulation is no longer flavour of the month, lots of damp issues and people trying to remove it, often with great difficulty and when they get it out they find what was put in was not what they thought. Double glazing good, but you will probably find he lives in a grade one listed property or such where it would be extremely expensive (I haven't looked his house up) so just a guess. And he obviously doesn't think he needs to because he can easily afford the extra heating costs...

The cops need to move in now..... these idiots are out of control... bring back swampy. I thought XR had distanced themselves from the group blocking the motorways (Insulate Britain). Also I think their secondary aim (if they can't get the government to commit to insulating homes) was to get a lot of their members imprisoned over the COP26 conference (presumably in an aim to make the government look bad).

If anyone is daft enough to walk onto a motorway with running traffic as I saw in a clip today, they should either be arrested or sectioned. They are either stupid or nuts (sorry for the word). People driving down a motorway and suddenly seeing people on the hard shoulder would assume some sort of accident ahead people stepping out into the road in front of them could easily be killed. And the poor driver would probably get blamed.

I'm the last person to want to give them ideas (however obvious) but I think they would be far more distruptive if they bought 3 old bangers, and practiced a manouever whereby they drive 3 abreast and then slowly but surely stop the traffic. Then they couldn't be accused of being "dangerous" so I really don't know why they didn't do it that way. For the avoidance of doubt I have zero sympathy for them. A first offence should be a large fine and a warning that if they do it again prison beckons and a second offence 1-3 months prison.

Not sure 'old bangers' would match the brand, old electric milk floats maybe.......

There was also a slight point i was trying to make with the "bring back swampy" these protestors could make their point with the backing of the uk public by (eg) climbing trees, marches, pickets.. etc.. unfortunately extinction rebellion seems to be made up of smelly OAP'S who have nothing better to do. IMHO. *SORRY @bobo..
*EDIT

Someone Checked No Wall insulation Single glazed windows, apparently his response was it was too expensive There is a tip from the MSE energy mythbusting guide to put cling film on single glazed windows - so you can do a whole house for a quid

I may have retired (very) early but not an OAP yet, otherwise correct on all points.
I think the point of all this stuff is to get people talking and understanding this topic and, if nothing else, they have succeeded.
No one likes their lives to be disturbed, but I guess the issue is having a drive delayed is somewhat better than potential larger and more uncontrolable mass starvations on TV or running out of Artichokes in Tescos.
