Before P2P, savers put a guinea in a piggy bank, now they smash the banks to become guinea pigs.

Admin This platform has become a predominantly "Chat" forum . Can you please provide a simple option to ignore the Chat thread? There is a lot of useful P2P information on this forum, so it is important to maintain its integrity. EDIT: To be clear I'm not saying that Chat should be removed, I just want a simple means of masking from view, if desired. A header option to show all except chat would be ideal.

I desperately wish there was this option too. It's a pain in the neck to filter through all the nonsense chit-chat to focus on the P2P content. As most of the discussions on these forums have nothing to do with P2P anymore, perhaps the Administrators could consider rebranding the forums to become "The place to try to show off about how you know more about Covid than every epidemiologist in the land every though you got a grade 'E' in GCSE Biology and now also show off about how you are a World-Leading Authority on the Ukrainian military".

ProBoards allows anyone to create free forums.
If Chat was to be split from everything else (i.e., from P2P proper), it would suffice to post a notice in Chat (a new thread) giving everyone 30 days notice that the Chat section was going to be removed, and that they better use this time to create a new ProBoards forum if they want to have a space to keep chatting. Following which the Chat section would be frozen / made read-only.
If this becomes a users poll and I'm asked to vote on it, I'd vote in favour of the removal of Chat.

Given that the site is using proboards, I suspect Admins scope for doing what you want may be limited.
But perhaps you are coming at it from the wrong angle. Rather than use the 'Recent-P' menu option, why not use 'Recent-T': that appears to be sorted by order of latest update on the thread: that would very quickly allow you to see what threads have been recently updated and select which ones you do and don't want to review.

P2P lending is going down the pan, and this is reflected by the dearth of on-topic posts.
Members need to have something to talk about otherwise it will turn out like the other place, where you can spend days just watching the tumbleweed blow past.

I always assumed all the great stuff in the other place was on secret sub-boards that I can't see! I guess the platforms that are left and the newer platforms are less exciting, need less user input and are (maybe) less combustible. So not so much to talk about, only so many times you can say payments are on time and everything looks OK. Let's hope it stays like that.

Another solution might be to highlight the Chat posts with a background colour, something that's done currently for DD Central posts. Maybe Chat posts would be easier to spot and skip in the Recent-P view if they were pale yellow or something.
And in case background colours could only be assigned to groups, that's OK, Chat could be made into a group very much like DD Central, except everyone's free to join (or after ten posts?), and those who chose not to join won't even need to see it.

In the absence of anything better I use Recent Threads which works fairly well for me if not ideal.
