I've recently signed up with and invested in four P2Ps and keep receiving emails from 'Onstep', which isn't one of the four.
I've now written three times to request that it stops sending me emails (that I do not want and now find to be a nuisance).
I read:'OnStep founders...are also behind the asset-backed peer-to-peer lending platform Unbolted, which launched in 2013.'[1] I did sign up with Unbolted and I wonder if this is the connection?
Has anyone else received unwanted emails from OnStep?

Breaking data privacy laws is still rife but so are well concealed tick boxes with inappropriate defaults. Every so often your email is leaked. Send it to report@phishing.gov.uk, mark as spam and filter direct to deleted folder. I don't bother with unsubscribe buttons in the email unless I'm sure the email is 100% legit from a recognisable company, most aren't.

I've had emails about OnStep but these were from Unbolted email addresses. They were just an introduction to OnStep when it launched and one update. 18 months since the last email.
You can link an OnStep account to your Unbolted account for easy transfer of cash. I haven't done that.

Thanks.
Unfortunately, the Onstep emails do not have an "Unsubscribe" option included. As the emails are not phishing, I will refer any further ones to the ICO that has a specific area for spam emails: Maybe that will work! I just want them to stop.
Incidentally, I found this to be useful:
Cheers

And yet people still continue to invest with these companies, like unbolted. P2P is no longer investable (for significant money).

What's wrong with Unbolted? The question is what’s wrong with P2P and the answer is a lot (except maybe for small investments)

What's wrong with Unbolted? Well for a start if you'd gone in to U when I did you'd now be looking potentially at getting sued by a borrower for all kinds of "alleged" stuff. In fact if you'd wrapped your investment in a Ltd company (however small) you'd very likely have received a Claim form from HM Courts. Hopefully that won't happen for the other private individual investors but you never know and this U borrower is trying hard to release all names in his loans (many dozens if not hundreds).

Just the sort of paranoia that the borrower is trying to generate?

Just the sort of paranoia that the borrower is trying to generate? It isn't paranoia - its a fact. See p2pindependentforum.com/thread/14543/cashing-out-court-case-ubAnd while I'm here, its also a fact that several P2P companies have collapsed. Common theme don't you think?

I'm not disputing the facts, merely commenting on your reaction to them.
