Took the kids (& other half who's not a big film lover) to see 'Home' the other week & what a pleasant surprise it was too. Having seen ads from previous visits I admit I was dreading it but went solely because of the young 'uns (don't think I didn't try to put them off!). It had great animation, a nice, funny feel-good plot & end with many layers for both kids & adults to digest. Highly recommended.
PS the wife loved it too, which is a big complement coming from her!

Last evening we went to see Mr Holmes. Quite a good film despite the 'plot' going back and forth in time; I prefer chronological order and that some of the dialogue by Laura Linney was incomprehensible.

Favourite film Blade Runner, Ridley Scott at his best....not sure which version, quite liked the original with Deckard's voiceover, ....... and that Vangelis soundtrack is superb Don't like musicals but American Graffiti, Raspberry Ripple, Cuban Fury & Blue Juice with its Northern Soul links are as close as I would go. BJ features an unreleased song by Edwin Starr called "The Price Of Pain" under the name of Ozzie Sands, could have been one of his biggest hits in my opinion. Catherine Zeta-Jones is an added bonus Quite like early Steve Martin films especially Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid Almost forgot the classic The Long Good Friday Anybody's list wouldn't be complete without some Danny Boyle films..... Trance, Trainspotting, The Beach & Shallow Grave.......... Trainspotting 2 is being released early next year Best film to watch after one too many with yer mates......a toss up between Airplane & 8 Heads In A Duffle Bag or maybe The Inbetweeners Movie The speech from Chaplin's The Great Dictator should be played repeatedly to all captured terrorists
