The Telegraph is now reporting a figure of £12m (total) and the Queen to subsidise some (all ?) of that. Which begs the question: should we have a poll as to whether the queen should pay for some of the settlement ? Obviously its now pretty much a done deal, but what the hell..... I was just thinking about this. Many moons ago one of my friends got caught DUI age 18. Respectable, professional wealthy parents. In addition to losing licence and local publicity, friend had a hefty fine to which parents were explicitly banned from contributing. The point was accountability. I guess there's a grey area here because Andrew hasn't actually been proven guilty but as an adult the general rule of thumb is to clear up your own mess...

However, there is a wider question for both the 'country' and for the institution that is the monarchy. Even if this is coming from the Queens "private" income/estate.

well I did wonder whether the agreement they he has signed would have echoes of the original Epstein agt. but with much tighter language. Perhaps that way the agt. is indemnifying a whole bunch of other people who are then funding the settlemement.
But maybe I'm a bit too much of a conspiracy theorist. Or not.

There are some vicious memes circulating already. I won't post them here, for fairly obvious reasons, but I am sure google would help out if you were inclined to look for them.
I approve heartedly.

Well I just came on here to post the gist of one of them. Not particularly vicious, but funny. DT today... "He will retain his Dukedom, his service rank of Vice Admiral and his role as Counsellor of State".
(And who in their right mind would seek his counsel for anything?)
