1 or 2 of the moderators are quite stern with investment sites that don't work right so here are 2 observations on this site.
Firstly, I generally use a VPN to access the web, but this site has recently started blocking me unless I disable the VPN. Hiding your IP address and encrypting your web traffic are perfectly legitimate security measures, and it seems incongruous that an 'independent' forum would stop this.
Secondly, when I read to the bottom of a page and click on next, I want to go to the top of the next page to see the next post. On here, I'm always directed to the bottom of the next page, so I have to scroll to the top manually.

Unfortunately as an unfunded and free forum we are dependent entirely on the pro boards hosting. I don't know why VPN access would have stopped working, but perhaps those with more knowledge in this area e.g. elljay may be able to offer a view and whether we can approach pro boards.
Your comment on the behaviour of the Next button is intriguing. I certainly don't get that problem. What browser etc ? anyone else get it ?

I tried out the "next" button on Assetz Green thread, and it always seems to end up at or near the bottom of the next page, which is daft! I also want to read the next post at the top of the next page. Firefox.

I'm also using Firefox, but I don't get sent to the bottom of the next page after using the 'next' button - takes me to the top as I'd expect. Windows 7.

As an experiment I'm at home, but connected to my office network a few miles away by VPN ... internet traffic is definitely being routed through my office network as evidenced by whatismyipaddress.com/ showing the static IP address there and not my home static IP. I can login and logout ok, browse the boards, read threads incl <Next> to jump to the top of the next page. I can <Reply> to a thread OK as this post demonstrates. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is <Quote> which returns the error "Invalid request token / possible request forgery (error 4). If you received this message in error, please go back, refresh, and try again."

I can sometimes get in with VPN, it seems to depend which server I use.
I'm on Firefox 35 and Lubuntu 14. If others aren't having the same problem, I suspect it's just the software hasn't been adequately road-tested for linux.

Back on my own IP now so I can use <Quote> I try to avoid Linux as much as I possibly can (sometimes have to use it at work though). Probably not directly relevant, but worth bearing in mind that a lot of website incompatabilities are caused not by the core functionailty but embedded trackers and banner ads. Flash based banner ads are a particular culprit here, particularly at a time of rapid releases by adobe of new versions of flash. As this adobe webpage shows the version of flash for linux firefox is lagging seriously behind other releases. Might be worth trying chrome on Linux.

I'm using Chrome and also getting the annoying "If you click 'Next' I'll dump your ass at a random point towards the bottom of the thread on the next page" behaviour. Not noticed this on Proboards before but guess that it is their fault not yours.

The VPN issue could be to do with anti spam measures. On one particular board I use (not this one) I occasionally get blocked with a message on the lines of "the IP address you are logging in from is regularly used for spam" or some such. Disabling and re-enabling the VPN usually fixes it.

Hi, as forum admin/mods we don't have control over any of the issues above. Suggest you contact Proboards via their support forum here.
