I wonder if a lot of readers/posters (maybe more significantly platform representatives) are not currently being deterred from engaging on the forum, due to the imbalance between financial content and 'chat'.
I read the forum using the recent post link and it is not unusual to scroll several pages before finding anything related to a platform or similar content.
I have no great problem with people airing their views on current events, giving forth with political opinion or being 'mildly abrasive' with each other on some nonsense issue. I would just rather see more of what I have come to the forum to see.
I believe I may have a simple solution to this.
Chat should be a member only area similar to DDc, it could operate in reverse where membership is automatic and 'opting out' allows those not wishing to participate to exit to a forum minus that aspect.
A Chat Lite area could be created for less contentious topics to allow flexibility. This would obviously be visible and accessible to everybody, but could move to Chat dull boring main area should it gain excessive momentum.
Or am I wrong and people like it just the way it is? I am mildly Neurodiverse (a blessing and a curse combined) so may be just being me. I am away to a specialist forum to have a chat about it.

I think generally platform representatives don't post in case their involvement might create legal precedents, some do seem to watch the forum though (probably just their sub-board) as problems posted often seem to get fixed! Chat is pretty much confined to chat so easy to avoid if you want to. I contribute to chat sometimes but also sometimes just scroll to particular platforms to see if anything interesting has happened. I don't use recent posts.

Pls feel me to leave me comment anytime.

My team is still decoding the benaj post, but I would guess they mean its not really chat (Definition - 1. to talk or converse in a light, easy, informal manner) more a point scoring exercise with little real interaction. That however was not really my point.

The issue is more a case of the P2P side being moribund these days. Nobody in their right mind is investing. Most platforms have gone south, and we're just waiting for news of our long-suffering money.

I think part of it is the 'good' platforms just chug along quietly so not too much to discuss.

I don't recommend platform (i like to keep my friends!), if you want to see which platforms I use you can guess by the ones I post on. Obviously what seems good now may turn out to be a dog later.

My team is so small as to be inconsequential anyway, Mrs aju is not really a team player as such she just leaves all the finance stuff to me and I just get constant postit notes to put in my spending sheets for any given day. )I lnew i should not have shown her how to use the credit card's.

I always go to the home page, as opposed to the recent posts page, where the chat is confined to the 'General' section right at the top. Then I focus on the sections below, looking for any new post tags so I don't miss anything that I do want to read.
