China is run by politicians who are mainly Engineers
UK is run by politicians who are Historians, Economists, Lawyers
people tell me that I shouldn't fixate on first degrees. I just see, competence and incompetence with a strong element of correlation.
You have every right to fixate on first degree subjects. We have far too many graduates who have irrelevant degrees. Look at our NHS . It has to recruit from overseas to get the right people. We have far too many arts graduates because they are easy to teach and require below average lecturers and give maximum profit to the universities. On the other hand to teach nursing and doctors needs highly qualified lecturers and expensive facilities giving a lack of profit to universities. The government must start restricting the quantity of irrelevant degrees that can be taught. You mean like:
Surf Science and Technology.
Viticulture and Oenology.
Floral Design.
Horology.
Cities.
Hand Embroidery
Psychology of Fashion

Subjects like Surf S and T and Floral design are foundation degree courses, the Psychology of F is a real Bsc course C800

Haven't been paying much attention to Rishi Sunak but if this is the best he can do then the next election is already lost. What are you going to do about China ? It's an international issue and apart from that I have nothing worth saying. The report sums up the meddling, corruption and spying across politics, infrastructure, technology and education.

Interesting talk today with tory mp bob seely about chinese influence on a whole host of uk policy, infrastructure control and spying... he basically thinks we are very near a point of no return, ie... we will be unable to escape the chinese influence within the UK... a recent APP that has appeared called TEMU is basically attempting to flood the uk market with cheap chinese shite, they are already in USA, CANADA AND AUSTRALIA, an arm of pindoudo, which was even sanctioned by the china dictat for the presence of malware on the Pinduoduo app that exploited vulnerabilities in Android operating systems. Company insiders said the exploits were utilized to spy on users and competitors.
