"she" being the Rwandan government spokesman who also said it was not a punishment, but a lovely place. Despite being unsafe in everybody's view but the Tories, who just don't want you to ask difficult questions. Despite all the refugees coming from there. And the UNHCR, which has something of Schrodinger attitude to the country, deeming it unsafe for the UK scheme but safe enough to fly in people from Libya for processing... and the 700 odd people who applied for asylum there I guess. Oh & the Labour Party which it seems wouldnt immediately stop the policy and wouldnt bring anyone sent to Rwanda back. Its always been more than 200 as the agreement is for up to 5700 www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-deport-migrants-rwanda-based-group-agreed-by-kigali-document-shows-2024-04-29/There were just over 6 000 Rwandan refugee asylum claims in 2022, Britain gave asylum to 5 out of 25, the same number as from the US, 5 out of 64. Less people have fled from Rwanda to the UK, than UK to Canada. www.worlddata.info/europe/united-kingdom/asylum.phpWe await to see which countries VDL & the EPP will deem safe under their own policy of third country processing.

I heard it’s a trending thing that Tory are undatable / not desired / not getting fxxks in the modern courtship online swiping / texting game.
No idea why people hate Tory so much even in their dating bios. 🤷♂️
I suppose it’s okay to register a proxy vote so someone could vote Tory without the dates knowing

there's a better one I've seen, though I can't recall where....ah just remembered. Copyright The Times. i'm sure they wouldn't mind for such a small audience as this forum now is.

High on the news list this morning... St Nige of the Farridge has announced he's not running, he's focussing on the US election, but he'll be "supporting" RefUK...
Also - Rish reckons that the first Rwanda flights will be "July". So they won't be happening at all, then. Good.

listening to local radio this morning and remember this is local so we have Major ( worse than rest of UK ) issues with NHS and education
"what are you priorities for the next Government"
"not bothered about policies just get Tories out"
"improve the green credentials of Wales"
"more powers to WG"
We have a WG :- Labour leader claims to be environmentally friendly but 80% of his campaign funds can from a company whose owner has twice been convicted of environmental crimes Plaid - Accepts the party was misogynist Tories - Leader in Wales is weird - watch him talk no eye movement, hardly stops to breathe
on the National campaign heard Rishi Sunak on R4 this AM , and yes as I expected he didn't answer the questions, but I expect Kier Starmer to do the same, but I expect he will be given a far easier ride.

My predictions Labour 370 or so Tories 120 lib dems 60 SNP 40 greens 1 I suspect you are overdoing both the Lib Dems and the SNP there - Labour probably 400+ unless something goes horribly wrong in their campaign (or Reform drops out in key seats).

So Sunak visits a brewery in South Wales today. To establish his lad credentials he asks the staff if they're looking forward to the football (ie the Euros).
Wales didn't qualify.

So you can only look forward to football if your team is there? Silly me I am looking forward to the FA cup and Champions league finals and don't support any of the teams involved

AMs aren't being elected in July, though. Next election is May 2026 - so the voting this year is only for the Westminster seats, not the devolved assembly.
