For those who think a Labour government is inevitably going to be a disaster, I have two questions, one of which is multipart... 1. Do you think the Tories have managed the country well since the... 1a. 2010 1b. 2015 1c. 2017 1d. 2019 ...elections? 2. Who do you think, of all the other current parties and positions, is best placed to manage it going forwards? I don't think either of these questions is relevant to the competencies of the next Labour government. But they are, Labours policy isn't look how good we can be it's look how badly the Tories have done. They have no idea how they are going to run the country but just like to point out how badly the Tories have done, unfortunately in my humble opinion Labour will do even worse when they get in. Labour thinks that to prove they are competent they just need to prove the Tories incompetent My answer to number 2 is Conservative not because they are good but the rest are even worse which is the sad state of affairs that the UK finds itself in.

Last time Labour 'got in' they did tory polices for two years anyway - whilst beginning what used to be called 'mass-immigration' Care to explain what you mean by that? 'Population replacement' ....since 1997('the area under the curve')
Othewise known as 'burning down the village' to save the [financial sector] of your economy .. 'eating your seedcorn' ... 'demographic destiny' ...'pretending not to notice' and 'being nice to foreigners' ...'Hotel Britannia' yada yada yada
[As you might tell, I'm an equal opportunities critic - both of Labour and the Conservatives]
I'm honestly not interested in trading insults, I can do that at any time. I asked for some policies you could think of from Labour which you assess would be 'good' for Britain. So respectfully please get back to me on that. I'm waiting....

Othewise known as 'burning down the village' to save the [financial sector] of your economy .. 'eating your seedcorn' ... 'demographic destiny' ...'pretending not to notice' and 'being nice to foreigners' ...'Hotel Britannia' yada yada yadaYou might wish to be a little bit more careful about your phraseology, because as it sits, a cynic may think you were alluding to... www.counterextremism.com/content/great-replacement-theoryAnyway, here we are after - going by your logic - 17 years and counting of this "population replacement", with roughly 85% of the population having been born here. Of course, even "not born here" doesn't factor out all of "them"... Lots of eminently "British" people were born outside the UK, from Boris Johnson to Joanna Lumley, from Cliff Richard to all the kids of UK forces posted abroad. Less than 10% of UK residents, as of the last census, held a non-UK passport - and that includes dual nationals. "We" don't seem to be being replaced by "them" very effectively. Anyway, even if "we" were, so what? Are "they" somehow inferior? It's quite simple, though - the UK population is ageing rapidly, and has been for decades. If we want an economically viable country in the future, there are three options... 1. Die younger 2. Breed more (very slow option) 3. Import Historic: Projected:

And the policies?
Do we give any attention to what they are putting before us?
(Yes, I get it, you are an 'Educate yourself' poster so perhaps a bit out of your wheelhouse here. I will not accept 'Google it' as an argument)

Why would the Tories up their game if we simply reward them with another term after 14 awful years of incompetence, mendacity, cronyism, failure and national decline?

If that was the case it would mean nobody would need to work as they could earn a living from betting. There's only one really good way to earn a living from betting... If you don't know what that is, ask Denise Coates. You clearly don't understand the nature of betting exchanges. Particularly odd given you have an interest in p2p.

And the policies? Do we give any attention to what they are putting before us? Given nobody's published their manifestos yet...

Why would the Tories up their game if we simply reward them with another term after 14 awful years of incompetence, mendacity, cronyism, failure and national decline? A few vaguely related observations / opinions off the top of my head: 1) Rishi has done a fairly decent job since becoming PM around Oct 22 2) I (was not in UK but) seem to remember David Cameron considered to be doing a relatively OK job for a few years since becoming PM around May '10 3) For '16 - '22 there has been no unified Tory party 4) There has been no credible opposition in any shape or form during the entire 14 years 5) There have been number of polarising issues leading to tactical voting misalignment with (otherwise) political leanings. Yes Brexit, but not just that. 6) 'Unprecedented times' of covid prompting decisions echoing those taken globally (endorsed by all political parties at the time) contributing at least in part to national decline 7) I can think of more reasons to not vote for any single party that I can think of reasons to vote for any single party Back to your question. Nope, I can't answer that. But unfortunately I haven't seen signs yet that Starmer is the answer either. Looking forward to the manifestos!

2) I (was not in UK but) seem to remember David Cameron considered to be doing a relatively OK job for a few years since becoming PM around May '10 Yup. The Cameron-led coalition was exactly what was needed in 2010, following Brown's contribution to the causes of, then utter mismanagement of the crash. It did a very decent job. But then Cameron got ensnared in the internal Tory/UKIP battles, while Osborne's austerity went on too long, too hard. I'd suggest extending that a year or two forwards... and that there still isn't - with very little hope for one going forwards in the short to medium term. If the Tories lose this election even half as badly as predicted, there will be an existential battle that will make Labour's recent history look positively peaceful. Johnson's pre-2019 purge left little but lackwits and the terminally sycophantic in Westminster over the last parliament, even before the mass not-standing-again announcements to save imminent Portillo moments. Who is likely to be left as a credible leader post-Sunak? Mordaunt? Just a 13% chance of retaining her seat, according to ElectoralCalculus. Badenoch? Entirely possible she'll be in with a shot, given a 63% chance of retaining - but will a black woman be a step too far for the party membership? JRM? Only a 20% chance of retaining. While that's accurate for most of the period, I'd suggest there has been over the last couple of years. I'd suggest it was fairly widely acknowledged that the UK did FAR worse than most equivalent economies, due primarily to the laughable lack of competent leadership.

I do think that people should recognise that 14 years of Tory rule have come with 4 financial tsunamis, any one of which could have led to the demise of an administration.

Just seen this, what punishment do these people get for this kind of act? Absolutely disgusting behavior, when did it become a society thing to be able to throw milkshake over anyone. I hope they throw the book at the woman that did this

I hope they throw the book at the woman that did this It goes with the entitlement some seem to have, and the ones that had placards saying "who elected him" at the coronation those that were outside Downing street chanting "not my Government" and such like when Boris got in. but made worse IMHO by just stop oil etc thinking anything is fair game
