YouTuber named as candidate in 11 constituencies  Is there any rule to stop people running in multiple constituencies? Why our democratic system would accept anything like this? |

You sign a declaration that you are only running in one constituency BBC says that authorities investigating if it is 1 person or 11 ie the original and 10 who have changed their name by deed poll. I hope he gets the book thrown at him if he has done this. These internet "pranksters" are a menace www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm55x95xj54oIn a video posted on X, he said: "We attempted to run Niko Omilana in multiple places across the country and somehow we managed to make it happen." that to me is as good as a confession |

So, are you saying the electoral commission doesn’t cross check this? what do they really check about the candidates before allowing them to stand apart from money?

So, are you saying the electoral commission doesn’t cross check this? what do they really check about the candidates before allowing them to stand apart from money? remember that the documents are submitted on paper in this case the name is unusual but in Wales "Jack Jones" "or David Davies" in multiple constituencies is quite likely.

What's the punishment for contravention? see adrians post 1 year in jail so IMHO do it 10 times = 10 years Maybe but that penalty seems to be a catch-all for any missleading/false statements made when applying to stand. Would be interesting to see the sentencing guildlines - I mean is it worse to pretend you're an OBE when you're not than it is to also be a candidate elsewhere?

what about candidates ID? We are required to have ID to vote? and no ID to verify all NIKO Os as the same person? 🤡 Some NIKO Os on whoicanvotefor have no profile pics. not even DOB.

Why does a party with only one MP have 2 leaders? It's deliberate. One male, one female - and they've had that setup since 1992. There's more to a political party than MPs, of course. Two members of the House of Lords, three members of the London Assembly, 800 councillors nationally. RefUK don't have any MPs (Oh, wait, one - Lee Anderthal moved over, didn't he?) Mind you, ReformUK are structured as a limited company with a majority shareholder.
