Is this the beeb's best attempt to stop the demolition of the Tories and bring us all back to some kind of happy status quo? The racist at the centre of this wasn't even quoted and you have to go to The Guardian or elsewhere to find out who the person was. It seems to be TWO seperate "canvassers". That is 2 people of out thousands and I can attest to the fact (I've said it before somewhere on these boards) that many Tory activitsts are also racist - at least 5 of them including a councillor are where I live. But no, lets keep Farage in check..... You were three minutes early ... the full details are there now. Its one canvasser making the racist remarks reported, but there is another who has also been making offensive remarks on another subject. The BBC isnt the source, its just reporting C4. There are people with offensive views in most parties ... plenty of stories about it ... this bloke has just been caught on camera Not even sure its that new news ... I have a vague recollection of reading about a few days ago ... the news id Farages response

Or they have done all of them and Reform is the only one where anything has occurred ... or the others will come later ... or C4 are anti-Farage which isnt news to anyone.

And one could hardly argue against that. And they know that Reform has to a degree lifted a large number of candidates virtually off the street. And adding to the differentiation will be that some of those Tory "infestations" will have peeled off to Reform for this election, adding to the difference. *in this context both meanings could apply I guess

Could someone please explain what postal voters can do if they haven’t received the papers for GE?
According to the beeb, some voters havent received their postal votes yet?
is it our democracy are being denied to “some”, or Royal Mail fails to deliver “democracy”?

Beeb: OMG we need to stop this anti-liberal populist.... So let me get this straight. Everyone knows Reform have no chance of forming a meaningful party in the next HoC. They likely will get somewhere between 0 and 1 seats, and might get somewhere up to say 5 seats. Their main effect is to remove support from the Tories, which in our FPTP system means that their impact is to likely one of turning a major Tory defeat into a catastrophe. One that is being talked about in similar terms to the seismic 1993 Canadian election. And certainly one that will likely see the tories out of power for 10 years. The BBC - the body you regularly complain of being a seething cauldron of left wing, anti conservative liberalism - is however on a crusade to turn voters away from Reform in order to help prevent such a cataclysmic outcome for the Party of Sunak, JOhnson, Braverman, Patel etc. ? Have I got that right ?

Have I got that right ? The other option, of course, is that RefUK really is a seething bed of halfwits and knuckle-draggers - just as St Nige of the Farridge's previous parties have all been. I wonder what William of Ockham might have to say on the matter.

Have I got that right ? nearly.... I wouldn't say the beeb is "left wing" but is definitely middle of the road with strong liberal/woke tendencies. Channel4 news is similar although perhaps slightly to the left of the beeb. Both of them and the rest of the "mainstream" media would certainly prefer any Tories to Farage hence the attack. Incidentally it was striking on Thursday's Question Time how much more the host interrupted Farage than she did the bloke from the Greens. I mean it was just so blatant. Surely you're not going to tell me they were both given an equal ride? Assuming you watched it of course...

I have always voted Conservative, even entertaining my new MP Jock Bruce Gardyne at my house on the night Thatcher won in 1979. They are now resorting to badmouthing Farage in a desperate attempt to keep their seats. I think they need a real clearout because of their incompetenceand terrible legacy, so I will be voting for Reform who I hope will get enough votes, or even seats, to become a strong opposition to Labour in Parliament.

Interesting stats from Sky news regarding voting intention based on what your favourite tipple is.
Conservatives well ahead among the Sherry drinkers, but support falls off badly when you get to shandy. No figures availoable for champers.
