I made my first Blend investment on 20 May 2021. I started with Blend partly because I'd heard good things about their loans and their record, partly because a friend was interesting in investing with them and wanted some hand-holding, and partly because they were offering a bonus. I haven't encountered any problems with the loans I'm in yet, and am perfectly happy with how the platform operates (except for their autolend mechanics which is discussed at length here).
I want to liquidate some non-ISA funds in order to prepare for next year's ISA. Given my displeasure with Blend's autoinvest mechanics, and the fact that they don't offer an ISA, I've decided to rundown my Blend account. I could just sell my loans on the SM, they seem to go fairly quickly, but I'd rather avoid the selling fee if I can.
I've been effectively running down my Blend account since I last switched the autolend feature off back in Sep 2022. My current XIRR is very low as most of my loans have a period of rolled interest before they start to make monthly interest payments, and also because I've bought some loans on the SM to avoid the autolend cashdrag where I've had to pay the accrued interest. I've avoided investing via autolend when queue was long, so I'm expecting the XIRR to rise to something near 9% at exit assuming no losses. I'll try to remember to update the table in this post monthly to show how it's going.
