Well, looks like 2.6%, 4.5% and 5.5% failing to lend. I wonder if they are watching the screen and will now whip all their cash out to avoid lending below (say) 3.8%, 4.8% and 6% - and wait till next Friday. (Being the start of the month won't help, initially!) edit 18:01 Yep - the 2.6% has gone already! and the 4.5%! and the 5.6% but not the 5.5% 19:03 I see that some matches in 5 year have been made a few minutes after the 18:00 deadline. I do hope RS are going to be flexible here, and allow them towards cashback, because it seems rather unfair that a cut-off time should have been selected while matches were still being made by RS - the timing of which depending totally on which market RS is dealing with as the deadline approached. Sure a midnight cut-off could have been seen to be far more easily applied. (I am not affected - I pulled out of the promotion very soon after transferring an initial tranche of cash when I saw the rapidity of the rate changes). I'm going to sleep now till late next week.

Hi there, New to this board, I put another 10k into RS for this offer , but notice tonight the 1yr is almost the same as the one month !! I guess its likely that the rates will increase after tonight near the 4% that caused RS to instigate this offer ? I certainly wont be lending at that poor rate .

It's probable that rates will rise again now some sellers no longer have an incentive to sell their money (too) cheaply. The 1-year market has had average rates over the past 3 & 12 months of 3.5%, but that hides rare highs of 4.2% and lows of 2.6%. If you're aiming for 4% you may have a long wait. Possibly worth considering investing in the 3-year market on the basis that you'll have 50% of your capital returned in roughly 18 months?

My unmatched money @3.9 and 4.0 on 1 year is looking a little isolated at the moment. I chose not to drop to get cash lent. I think it will be making an exit from RS for the moment. Probably an error not to have just dropped it in at 3.7/3.8 at the start.
The rest I have on 5 year @ 6.2 and 6.3 is looking almost as isolated. Ah well. Such is life. I'm not comfortable having too much on RS on 5 year so without top rate to balance it too may also be wending its way to somewhere else.

Hi, because RS is such a good experience for me I don't follow it as closely as I used to have to follow Zopa. On zopa there is normally a lot more cash on the system in the first few days of the month and so rates could be lower (when they used to let you change them) or the lending queue longer. I thought that RS tended to have more repayments towards the start of the month. Could that be the case today?

That's probably part of it, plus there is an overhang, I expect, from folks who put money in to get the cashback, reduced the rate =desperate= to get the cashback, and failed to put the rates back to sane (or left it to follow 'market rate') after the cashback offer expired on Saturday. Basically a bl00dy great big rock got thrown in the stream, and we'll have to wait for the ripples to die down before we can assess the depth/flow as per normal.

good news the 6.0 and 6.1% for 5 years now coming in. If this was a business process you would see the boss coming down the corridor now with steam coming out of his head. , oops it is a business process.

How strange ... after midnight last night the 5yr pot was down to below £100K* at 6.1% (all my 6.1% had been matched), yet by this morning, the "market rate" for repayment reinvestment seems to have been set at not 6.1%, but 5.9% - another reason why I use "my rate" despite Kev's reservations about its functionality. My rate today is 6.2%, I am sitting at £370K in the Q and fully expect to be matched this afternoon or tomorrow. * there is still only £88K in at 6.1% edit 18:15 only £75K left in the queue (for me) at 6.2% ..... then my ninepence will be matched - 0.3 % above today's anomalous (IMO) market rate . edit 18:30 .... and gone 6.3-6.4% next week? edit 19:14 .... 6.3% pot about to be utilized in a few minutes. Might invest a bit over the weekend if 6.4% runs dry. Should've held on to last week's little tranche instead of resting it in "one month" while % yr was looking at 5.6%. ....'ang on a bit ... the rate squash manipulators are awake .... someone's dropped in a couple of ponies at 6.1% ...we're doomed ......DOOMED !!!

Elljay produces some excellent data graphs from Zopa's mi feed. He used to do the same for RS but they stopped providing the feed a few years back. Its a shame we don't have access to this info as I would really like to understand what caused the event that set the MR to 5.9% and even I can't sit around all night watching how the money moves about.
