On Monday a wildfire broke out in the hills to the east of my house, as of now it is still burning in patches, yesterday afternoon I was on my way to my allotment and passed a parked fire engine. Most of the crew were out of the cab up in the hills dealing with the fire. A car in front of me was parked in the next passing place and the idiots were unpacking chairs and a disposable barbecue etc obviously intent on going up into the hills for a picnic.
GRR the whole hillside is a tinderbox and they are going to use a barbecue

Countryside is dry as a bone .
Spent the evening trudging around with watering cans .
Yes , (before you say hosepipe ban) but we do maintain our own borehole and spring, which also serves 80 cows.

No hosepipe ban here, but we have a leak in the next road up that's been visibly running down the street since before Christmas

Disposable barbeques should be banned. Maybe an extreme measure, but the great british public can't be trusted to act responsibly with them.

Disposable barbeques should be banned. Maybe an extreme measure, but the great british public can't be trusted to act responsibly with them. I'm sure some round here would then make fires with fallen wood etc
