We have been approached by a couple of NGOs applying to launch a loan offer on our platform. We are looking at the legalities and also at their accounts etc. However, I would be really interested to know how interested you would at investing. What is the general perception of NGOs?
Thanks.

I think "NGO" covers such a wide variety of organisations. I would be inclined to avoid generalisations. Ultimately it means looking at their books and understanding their finances, security, revenue stream, etc. So in that respect, I don't think I'd treat them any differently to commercial businesses.

I would be interested in investing in NGOs. However many will be not for profit organizations, so to compare them directly to a normal limited company many not be the best approach. Certainly being able to repay the loan would have to be tested. As important may well be the aim etc of the NGO. Depending on what they did there may well be investors who would wish to look kindly on them and invest at a lower than normal rate. Would you for example be willing reduce your borrower fee to help such an organizations? Given there are many P2P and P2B platforms around now this may be a market niche worth exploring. I am fairly certain FC are or were considering them.

Great thanks for the feedback, really useful.
We will take a look at this area, potentially a discount off the fee would be a start. I'll update if we have that get approval.
Thanks.
