Don't forget to read your gas and electric meters today and submit the readings
and if you have a traditional meter don't put in lower values than the actual readings so you get billed later at a lower rate as that would be very naughty and might impact your suppliers profits.

While your at it see if you can move to the Octopus tracker tariff and pay significantly less for your electricity. Including a £50 referral credit.

The simplest way is the honest way - don't try to defraud your energy supplier. Although if you insist on doing so unintelligently, and wind up paying more as a result, consider it balancing out the planet's ying and yang and allow yourself a wry smile.

Ahh but the simplest way isn't always the smartest way. Simples !

need to put in readings today or tomorrow, before the prices go up on 1/1/24 of course this doesn't apply if you are on a fixed tariff It also doesn't apply if you're with a clueless supplier that -- every time this tariff change happens -- sends you a special link to send your reading at the changeover point, which they accept, but then entirely ignore for billing purposes, preferring to create an estimated one instead. Grittish Bas. Putting the GRRRR into ...

Wouldn't it be advantageous to put in a higher number? By mistake of course, those analogue meters are hard to read ;-) That way the lower rate would be paid for energy that will be used after the price increase. Yes the price is going up this time so over reading would be advantageous , lol with my gas meter on the floor it is actually a pain to read

Still, an inadvertent misread due to poor eyesight/mislaid glasses etc. would be simply be inavertent
