amongst the usual Monday bumf were 2 letters.
one was mine the other was to another address but the same house number and postcode .
so I put it back in the post with the postcode crossed out, I went away for a short break on Tuesday and on Thursday evening I get home to find it has been redelivered to me .
On Friday I put it back in the Post With "NOT ( my road Name )" written in black felt tip
this morning it arrives back, so I open the door and chase the postie and hand it to him.
wait and see what happens now

I think the other person has given the wrong postcode, what is slightly worrying is the mail is from the waterboard ( DWR CYMRU ) as the logo was all over the envelope. Why does it worry me, it's that the system has allowed the input of an address with an "inconsistent" postcode. just looked it up the last 3 are different and none of the characters match or could be mistaken over the phone

Many years ago me and my husband ran a pub called the Red Lion. There was another pub called the Red Lion not far away, and once or twice we got their post, although not vice versa as far as I know. We were in the town, they were in the middle of nowhere. I used to write their post code on it and repost it. That seemed to solve the problem. Machines understood that!

Blimey, I must know you unless it was a long long time ago. Fine pub, with excellent Landlord and Landlady. I'll drink to that memory.

How many of them do you think there are ? zillions [The real answer is "over 600" apparently. Though that was in 2021 so perhaps about 40 now, sadly]

and today another letter from the water board, this one appears to be a "red letter" postie says that they deliver based on house number and postcode.
I've rung Dwr Cymru, gawd what a useless organisation it is.
Anyway they did the usual trick of trying to hide behind the DPA and GDPR .
I pointed out that not correcting data when told it was wrong is a breach, I got the I don't care attitude, I asked if the call was being recorded and was told yes. I then politely informed then that should I get any more letters for this person I will charge them £20 to return the letter and £20 an hour for my time to process it with a minimum charge of 1 hour. funnily enough they can suddenly change the postcode "I've looked on the system and the postcode doesn't match the street", my response "that's what I've been saying for the last 10 minutes"
what and see what happens now
