Not worth it. I tried it for a month with average of daily deposit of £ £200. The prize pool is not large enough, not enough prizes.
I emptied my premium bonds some time ago, I now get my thrills and excitement from octopus' free monthly Wheel of Fortune spin. And my relatives which they've never noticed yet !
We have been with OE for almost 3 years now since avro failed and religiously do our bills every month, have not even had a sniff on either the gas or electric wheel but still do it just in case ;-) Since we have been on rations for electric and gas trying to keep our bills down OE is not getting as much out of us anymore. Mind you despite keeping bills at the lowest we can they are still way more expensive than before all the cheap companies went belly up. Having been with OE for a while they do seem to be very genuine about their endeavours. I guess we had it good for some 10 or more years and now we have to pay for the systems that failed.

Anyway, didn't know about this wheel of fortune thingy - I'm on a smart meter so not logging in to give readings. Turns out that as a Smart Meter customer we get TWO goes per month per fuel. So I've just had a go - or 4 goes to be precise. And I won*. So just PROVES that my two meters are more favoured by the OE random prize generator than your 2 meters. So I won't change my meters but you might want to change yours. *£1 prize, so won't be dining out on it.

Sadly the so called SMART meters are far from smart a lot of the time, I'm perfectly happy with our manual meters for the time being and will resist as long as i can. Never had an issue with our old meters. That's not to say they are infallible but just that I like to be in control ... ;-)

I sense the possibility of a bifurcation of topic here. Just to help things along, I have a smart electricity meter that works fine, a smart gas meter that's sited far enough away from the electricity meter that it can't communicate and so I'm nagged to submit its reading every month, and I just won £150 from Ernie.

I too had forgotten to keep spinning the wheel of fortune, due to being on a smart meter. I just did two spins and won £1 . I'm also completely satisfied with the smart meter. I've also received a letter this week to say that I'll be getting a smart water meter fitted soon too.

Apparently new dual band comms hubs are due soon that will connect better.

The cartel system we have in the energy market is giving us the false representation that no point in switching. I just submitted a Calculated reading from my smart read, as I am no where near my SMD. Anyway, two spins gave me Zilch this month.

I too am with OE and had forgotten about the wheel. Will give it a go. Still annoyed that it's now 60p a day standing charge before I use power. Other than that they do what's required.

Won £1 in April for spinning the wheel first time.
But I had to settle a much bigger energy bill this month, due to different usage and setup. 😅
Time to get energy monitor to find out the money n energy sucking machines at home.

We've been spinning the wheel since we started with Octopus Jan 2022 and never had a hit yet. The increases in the standing charges are not that helpful in encouraging people to use less gas in my view but we still try to keep it down as much as possible. Now that we have grand parent duties it's not easy to keep costs down with a 2 year old in the house every few weeks! ;-)
