Lovely example down my road this morning house with a gas leak,
Welsh Utilities are whatever they are called this week digging a hole and being sensible they put in temporary traffic lights. they also put cones on the opposite side of the road.
I'm walking down to get a bottle of milk so can hear and see what's going on.
Numpty Woman drives up opens car door gets out and moves parking cone , gets back in car and parks ( completely blocking the road )
workman shouts over "you can't park there luv"
She shouts back "I'm entitled to park here, it's outside my mums house"
I get my milk and come back out , and car is still there and nothing moving.
NEE NAW heard and police car squeezes past traffic and stops safely. So I think I'll just hang around for a bit.
goes over and asks workman whats going on and he explains and says "it's a young blonde woman and she's gone into number XX"
Policeman goes and knocks on the door and asks for car to be moved and gets the "I'm entitled to park there, I'm allowed to park my car on the road"
Policeman says that cars has to be moved it's blocking the highway and gets "my car isn't blocking the road the hole is the problem not my car"
Door is slammed in policeman's face.
meanwhile the other officer is setting up a diversion by closing this section of road off and using the cul de sac off it to turn cars round in.
At this point I go home and can see no traffic moving about 20 minutes go by and I see a recovery truck coming down the road.
Guess what, yep they lifted the car with "i'm entitled" screaming at them that they can't move her car. last I saw was recovery driver giving her paperwork ( presumably where car was going and what it's going to cost her to get it back )
traffic is now moving OK
Why on earth would you even remotely think you can block the road especially given it's a main bus route
