An email today from Ablrate saying that charges were going to be deducted from international payments.
I must admit to being surprised by the thought that Ablrate were going to make any more payments to anyone!

So if I've got this right, they are going to deduct money from money we aren't going to get. I've had better offers from nice people asking for my bank details so they caam get me government grants, etc etc.

Companies like TransferWise came about because the banks were charging a fortune in exchange rate costs, they still do. Anybody receiving a large amount (ha, good luck with that) via the bank instead of Wise is likely to see a serious shortfall in comparison.
