Posted on another Forum that someone in the Village had had a Visit By Police and DNO yesterday
" someone had seen that the property had 2 electric meters and 2 distribution boards.
I was told this morning they guy had admitted "Dai the Electric had done it for him"
apparently the Supplier Meter was connected to the lights all the other load through the other meter.
Apparently he said in the pub last night he'd had a good run because it had been in 10 years"
I added this was common in the valleys at one time
20 minutes later I get a knock on the door
A guy from TMA to read the meter.
I said my readings are automatic, and I'm billed on a time of use tariff
“Smart meters are often inaccurate, lots of people are getting bills of hundreds of pounds after we read the meter”
this guy was dumb, didn’t even know that tapping the buttons would cycle the meter through the registers.
I’d say it’s more them reading the meter wrong than it sending wrong readings.
But if you do get a big bill after they read the meter how do you dispute it. ( Ive taken photos )
oh and “it’s not my job to read gas meters” when I asked about reading the gas meter whilst he was here
