Well did any of you get sucked in?
I'm after a new phone, been watching various refurbed phone sites for months , i do a lot of research to the nth degree for best deal! As usual most prices rose 20% to the offer a discount on the run up to BF.
Needles to say I'm still no further forward.
Will be interesting to see the retail figures as the news has been quiet about sales this year.

Yes.
A fortnight ago, a friend asked me about a new mobile. I did a bit of research (updating suggestions for SWMBO's new phone earlier in the year), and made some suggestions. Last week, I decided to replace my mobile, and went for one of the list I'd sent the friend.
In that week, the Redmi Note 12 4G had come down on Amazon from £199 to £129. It's £145 today.

A true bargain then. The Samsung galaxy I've been looking at on Amazon are way off price wise. The price difference between retailers can be pretty big. Shopping around is even more essential now, even without the trickery of black friday.

Will be interesting to see the retail figures as the news has been quiet about sales this year. Like you, I research until my fingers bleed... The powerful Lenovo gaming laptop I was watching was £4,560 RRP. Reduced in the week leading up to and including Black Friday itself by £701 to £3,859. I held back, thinking it's all a bit of a con and I'll see what develops.... On the Saturday immediately following Black Friday, they knocked another £429 off! For once I'd made the right decision (which is rare). I was now seriously tempted, so started a webchat to ask a couple more questions. I asked whether they could fit an extra SSD drive (at my cost). The answer was no, but without any bargaining from me, the guy immediately compensated by offering a further £300-odd discount! That offer was only good for 48 hours though... So I decided to pull the trigger and buy it at £3,100 - complete with saving of £1,400 give or take. Today, the price has gone back up to £3,882, a saving of just £678. So, in this particular example, I struck lucky and Black Friday was 'kind of' a genuine deal, but the moral for me was to wait a fraction longer. Obviously, being cutting edge tech, the same laptop will be sub £2,000 by the spring...

I've been looking at getting a Nintendo Switch Oled - not for me of course (ahem!). Not much difference on BF. But google ads/shopping has picked up on a load of dodgy looking sites. e.g. this one selling it at £200 when the mainstream shops wouldn't be less than £270. tysmarket.com/product/nintendo-switch-oled-model-blue-yellow-splatoon-3-edition/And then there is dealmonday.co.uk which also sells it consistently cheaper. But is all this woth the risk assuming I can pay by CC or Paypal? P.S. Berny: That must be a helluva laptop - I'm jealous although I'd rather spend that on a desktop when the time comes.

For the first time in years I didn't get suckered.
I still want a bigger TV, but trying to be green and keep this one, it's only 7 years old, has a Firestick and satellite box connected does everything I want bar recording

I usually use AO, However being a tight wad I tried to get the 55 inch tv for a 24 inch price. Ended up with a TCL. Whatever you do do not waste your money. The spec looks good on paper but in reality its junk.

Some of the cashback sites had some fairly decent % rates over the weekend. I bought some some cardboard boxes off ebay with 20% + £5 Quidco cashback.
