Absolutely berny! Nothing worse than that guilt feeling on xmas morning lol. Always best to have another wee something hidden for emergencies. Even if it's only a box of after eights or something. After Eights or similar screams " I screwed up and knew I'd screw up....this is my cheap cover and I think you are so naive you might actually fall for it." Critical Fail! Far better to say you are gifting a surprise outing to theatre, restaurant etc. of their personal choice (hence it not actually being booked yet). They will still most likely see through your cover, but far less inclined to be annoyed about it. Edit: for clarity, you do actually have to follow through with this and it will cost you more than a box of After Eights.

Better not get married after the conversion and then the wife and family has to ex communicate the non-witness.
No xmas, no birthday celebration before reverting back I suppose. Not even presents.
