Question for anyone out there who might know. Its quite a while since I did this so can't recall how best to do it.
I need to fly on Easyjet, and return leg will be from different airport. So I need to book one way tickets. The return leg - since departure is in Europe - gives the pricing in Euros. While I don't have a problem with this per se, does it need to be like this ? Can you change it over to GBP ?
Thanks.

Have you tried this site, i didn't go very far but prices from EU cities seemed to be in £'s. Of course they may be just in euros at the final point. They may also be converted from euros using an unfavourable translation too. www.easyjet.com/en/cheap-flights/ukedit: Re-reading your question I did only check out single flight perhaps you need to book each leg separately also i was using my computer and a web browser not a phone/tablet. I only looked at one way eu to uk too.

This is a bit like the Spanish hotel bill con - 'would you like to pay your bill in Sterling or Euro sir'
The answer is of course that you pay in Euro and let you bank do the conversion an the normal rate. If you pay in Sterling then the hotel will do the conversion at a very unfavourable rate.

It's usually the card machine that asks - and the question is one of which bank you think'll give you the less-worse rate.

So i clicked on the link i gave and unless i didn't go far enough all i got were cheap flights in £ etc. I didn't have to click the change currency option. Admittedly I'm using google chrome, albeit on a windows 7 machine (yes its secure still ). I tried a few flights and all of them were in £. Not sure if they were translating them from euros though. I didn't have to change the currency it was already in pounds.
I tried other browsers and all were the same they started in euros from just using the link i gave. Initially I did not actually drill down and see the change currency option until i started to delve more deeply.
Go figure eh - might be interesting to see the exchange rates though - Mrs aju is calling for assistance with making the beds for visitors!

From my very quick poke around, it defaults to the currency for the flight's starting location. Luton -> Paris, £ Berlin -> Luton, € Which, you have to admit, is not altogether unsensible.

Thanks for people's responses. I've been out pretty much since I posted so apologies for non-response from me.
My experience historically I think is what I originally found and which I think adrianc has been suggesting: that the 'native' price so to speak is in starting location currency. And something someone else said on here has triggered a memory: that you can opt to pay in GBP for a Euro priced flight, but that is simply been done at easyjet conversion rates. Which is going to be a 'no thank you I'll use my nationwide credit card for that ...
I'll let you know how I get on. I've also got to flaming figure out what type of ticket is going to be be most cost effective, as we have two bikes to take plus some luggage.
This is the bit I hate: buying the goddam plane tickets.

Go by train? not a bad idea, but probably not a terribly viable possibility for where we are going, hooking in to the group transfer, etc. EDIT: Ok, so out of interest for next time, where does one go to try and do a one stop shop for trains to european destinations ? I've just tried trainline for the trip I am doing (which is now booked for plane) and its come up with a big fat nothing, other than taking a coach. Which is most definitely not my idea of fun.

I think raileurope.com is about the least-worst, but have a read... www.seat61.com/european-train-tickets-online.htm

Looked at seat61, which looks like its a good resource for planning journeys. It confirmed what I thought: not easy. 3 day/2 night trip. Versus 2:25 flight.

Can there be more to travel than that? With our awareness of the contribution of flying to climate change, should there be more to travel than that?

But not when lugging a couple of bikes in bike bags plus your kit for 10 days. Plus we haven't flown since 2018 (for leisure - I will have done some for work). So I won't feel too bad about it on this occasion.

I'd rather do that again, take the camper - but this time, it's impossible without doing a HUGE detour - simply because there are no ferries. Shortest road route is Harwich-Hoek van Holland ferry... 1,400 miles each way.
