my OH asked me today if I could help an elderly friend with a problem with her phone.
phone showing emergency calls only
I found out she was on Plusnet and it was moving to EE.
found a bank statement and it shows EE being paid.
phone EE and they say they sent a new sim and it was activated a month ago
I pop the sim tray and it's obvious the phone hasn't been opened in a long time, an the sim is Plusnet
lady insists she has never had the EE sim
so to cut a long story shorter EE are sending a new card, but If you know anyone that was on plusnet this may be the issue as they are disabling plusnet cards

I wish there are more people like you helping people sorting out these sim cards termination. The new sim card means 5G ready. I have no idea how many people need to upgrade their SIM cards when the 2g and 3g networks are closed down. The sim cutter won’t make the sim 5G ready. 5g.co.uk/guides/do-i-need-a-new-sim-card-for-5g/

I bought a new phone a month or two back - 4G. No point worrying about it, when the vast majority of its life is wifi calling...
