I see a coup in the next 2-3 months led by momentum and the unions, and I see the possibility of Abbott or Corbyn being installed as leader I think we have been somewhat spoiled by the Tory party leadership shenanigans. Incumbent winning PMs are very rarely ousted. Thatcher and Blair won three terms before they were eased aside, and Cameron only went because of his incalculably moronic (and arrogantly reckless) decision to hold THAT referendum.

Perhaps the UK NHS should do this to some of the health tourists, I know they aren't a huge number but it's often major issues that cost a lot

Yes, this always used to p**s me off. so many people complaining about the NHS being used by Johnny Foreigner, and yet the truth of it was the NHS was regularly failing to charge/recoup. I doubt the cost of administration was really greater: after all, plenty/all healthcare systems abroad will charge you, or in the case of the EHIC cover, would use that scheme to recoup. I think it comes down to the whole mentality of the NHS organisation: i.e. the mantra of free at the point of use. I thought however there had been initiatives to rectify this in the last few years.

The big difference, of course, is that many of them have charging systems in place for residents, too.

£1.70 a week represents 4% of average drinkers spend ok so multiply by 25 £42.50, really the average person spends over £40 a week on beer, don't tell me that people are skint £2,000 a year !

A nice flat pint to keep trading standards weights and measures happy and aligned. First step in taking us back into the EU... too much of a stretch?

I'm sure I've seen glasses with the pint mark 1/2 an inch or so below the top so the head above that line is OK as it's extra to the pint.
I prefer real ales which tend to be flatter anyway.

TBF, most drinkers wouldn't notice much about the difference apart from the price. Not sure exactly what the new governemnt are banning exactly. Personally, I prefer larger foam head.

Given it's already the law, it's a non story. You are entitled to a full pint, if you don't want the head then the barman has to top it up.

Shock, horror! Labour banning beer drinkers desperate for foamy head pints.Really? Has any one actually read the article? The headline is purely Clickbait! Not a single reference to any political entity, Labour or otherwise, having ever given any thought to banning foaming pints. The gist of the article, as I read it, was that "The Campaign for Real Ale said it wants whoever wins the election on July 4 to introduce a legal right for pubgoers to receive a 100% liquid pint every time they are served", especially given the financial constraints that most of the country is experiencing. Absolutely no mention of proscibing the serving of a 'frothy head'. How on earth does anyone become annoyed by an aspiration aimed at ensuring customers enjoy value for money?

TBF, the headline does say that... Beer drinkers desperate for foamy head pints to be banned by new government.Beer drinkers (well, CAMRA) are desperate for "foamy-head" pints to be banned, so are lobbying all parties to commit to that after the election. You don't even need get past the first sentence to understand that. "Consumer organisations are calling on the next government to change legislation to stop drinkers being short-measured at bars and pubs."A pint of beer has to be served to the line on an officially marked glass. The question is whether this includes the head or not - the legislation does not specify either way. There is industry guidance which says minimum 95% liquid. CAMRA are calling for that to be 100% liquid to the line. 5% of 568ml is 28.4ml, or a little under six teaspoons.
