I don’t know why the Fashion for Relief (1159995)has not been struck down by the gov. Fashion for Relief was removed from the register of charities on 15 March 2024. I hope the news would stop people donating money to this mysterious charity, it hasn’t published the impact for the charity made on their web site. One of their partners is Care International UK (292506), now they are doing Gaza humanitarian crisis appeal, it claims the money reached 167 Million people in 2023 over 1671 projects. www.careinternational.org.uk/I think the charity commission is doing a good job in policing and shutting down rogue charities ( we had one near here where the founder / chief exec and the CFP ( founders wife ) were taking over 95% of the annual income in expenses and salaries ( IIRC the chief execs salary was nearly 2/3 of the income )

😅
Fashion for Relief website is still operational, definitely not struck down by the gov.
I have no idea if the trustee bank account is still operational?
May be the solicitors and accountants have better idea where the money is being transferred

😅 Fashion for Relief website is still operational, definitely not struck down by the gov. Digital archeology, no more. The website starts "COVID 19 URGENT APPEAL - With the UK under lockdown..."
Click on the donate button, it goes to the Mayor's Fund for London, to a long-closed page. mayorsfundforlondon.enthuse.com/cf/covid-19-appealLower down "An exclusive inside look at our spectacular London 2019 event"Quite probably just working out the rest of a pre-paid hosting account, and nobody's bothered to actively turn it off. Yet. It'll go when the pennies run out in the meter. Nobody was exactly doing much with it in the first place. Their last Insta post was December 2020. Their last FB post December 2019. Somebody with a twix account can tell you how unused that is.

Exactly, not running out of pennies yet, so bank account is operational as well.

I am a smidgin annoyed by both the closure of the last blast furnace in Port Talbot and by the closure of the last coal-fired power station in Ratcliffe-on-Soar.
In my tree, there are several generations of coal miners that ended with my grandfather. The family story is that he walked away from the industry when the government cut the price of coal after the war.
I really hope that this is all part of a cunning plan to leave 400 years of coal production and decades of oil and gas production in the ground so that the country can, eventually, use those resources to escape the global Armageddon.

Edited for accuracy.

I try to watch Aljazeera which, although hugely biased, at least expands my view of the world, poor though that might be.
But it has just vanished from Freeview to be replaced by a web-page which doesn't load on my smart telly.
Progress, Jim, but not as we know it...

Me too and no more biased than most other broadcasters IMO. The establishment in this forum would tell me to read the BBC instead. Today I did that and came across this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp39q1ppk41oYet another clear as day story to influence rather than inform. If you read the story ( Jenrick faces backlash over special forces killing claim), the "Backlash" turns out to be coming from Jenrick's rivals in the Tory leadership race. There is no backlash. Only likely the truth being outed by Jenrick and the beeb trying to deal with it.

BTW, what he's alleging would be illegal, under both international rules of conflict and under UK law. He's also talking rubbish when he says that they'd be released by European judges under the ECHR. Which articles forbid prisoners being arrested and prosecuted? The ECHR merely says they are entitled to a fair trial. Is that a problem?

Mr Jenrick’s latest outing did not impress me much. Hunt is probably right the voters who fed up with the new Government won’t return to Conservative

Although the FDCO advises Britons to leave Lebanon, but some are required to stay for doing the job for reporting stories there. Why there's no report for Lebanese government demanding their neighbour to stop any attack on their territory? Are they really that bad don't care their citizens being killed and their assets being destroyed? Not to mention the storming of Al Jazeera's offices in the west bank by the Israeli military ordering it to close for 45 days. Do you think the “limited” operation will end before the 45 days period or Al Jazeera won’t be allowed back to their offices in the West Bank?

All together, Israel's behaviour is looking very poor to the world. I hope the US doesn't start backing them should Iran get involved and worse than that would be if the US's favourite poodle isn't kicked into helping either.
