Spotted an administration auction today for a company I know a little about
in the accounts it shows vehicles valued at £170k
4 vans ( 4-8 years old) and 2 2010 cars all with between 140,000 and 250,000 miles on the clock
be shocked if they get £40k
yet the valuation of £170k would be what the P2P lenders would loan against

I once stood for 6 hrs at an auction for one of these for my dad. Joinery company had gone bust and this was the directors car.
It went for more than market value and wouldn't be surprised if it 2as rigged bidding.
Waste of a day.
I also bought a transit van at auction years ago... light front end damage, looked like bonnet lights grill etc. When on stripping of damage it turned out the timing plate and loads of other ancillary parts were damaged.
Sometimes there ain't no bargains to be had.

These usually below market value.
Having said that 2011 VW caddy, Auction finishes in 4 days already at £1200

The trouble with auctions is you're never certain that you're not bidding against yourself.

My mates after a van for a conversation project. Found one in Wales, fiat ducato , 10 years old , windows and roof lights done. 11500..crazy money for used vehicles still even although the price for Van's has allegedly dropped 20% last quarter.
Some folk will still be fooled by "camper conversions" that really are £500 worth of timber cobbled together with a domestic sink and a price tag exceeding 30k!

Guy up the road from me has a motor home He's covered the external aluminium with a sheet twin wall plastic similar to what I have in my en suite. he put in fitted units with worktop, and when he goes away he puts a proper toilet pan in, ( i've seen him putting it in and removing it ) not sure if it's the one from the house. His latest bodge is to replace the step on passenger side, with the top cover from a small form factor PC, not even removed the sides etc . Given the Boxer type vans are now at over £4000 I guess people are looking at those to convert
