Talking to a friend over the weekend, the organisation he works for advertised a role at his level recently and he was amongst the staff selected to assess candidate applications. Amongst the universally rejected applications was one from a graduate in his mid 20's. The reason behind rejection was he put his name on the application form in blue when the instructions were to complete in black ink, then in every box wrote "see attached" he had stapled a CV to the application form. Despite leaving university in 2020 he claimed 5 years experience as a project manager, and 2 years as senior project manager on projects valued at over £100 million.
After the interview process was complete unsuccessful candidates were notified. This guy rang in and told them there must be a mistake as he hadn't been interviewed and he was clearly the best candidate. Apparently the guy managed to get hold of some email addresses for the company and has emailed the head of HR, and the chief exec amongst others demanding an interview !

Sounds to me like he was just trying a bit too hard rather than being "entitled".
These days though, I'm surprised he doesn't get the prospectuses of the companies for him to flick through before deciding which one to join - such is the shortage of good people (in my area at any rate). Tell him to create a Linked-In profile and watch the offers come flying in...

Obviously watches the apprentice where they all lie on their CV's and tell anyone that will listen that they are greatest thing ever. All just seem to be clones of each other and the previous three/four series

It seems to me that this young man comes from a generation that are constantly told by their parents (and schools/uni's) that they are special and they think they can achieve pretty much anything they want without too much effort. Then reality kicks in once you enter the big bad world. He may indeed be the best candidate for the job but he hasn't learnt to "play the game" . And blatant lying is just ridiculous and insulting to an employer's intelligence.

All just seem to be clones of each other and the previous three/four series All you need to know about the Apprentice is that the only former contestant that's actually built any kind of public career on the back of it is Hatie Kockpins.

Think Tim being Sugar's right hand (maybe should be left as he sits to his left) man counts for something. It's been rubbish for a few years now but think Ricky selling his business for £10 million counts as a success, few others have done well as well. It is a business show not about building a public career afterwards so not sure why you mention that waste of space

You can certainly tell who watches The Apprentice and who doesn't but wants to make some fatuous comment.

If you don't fill in the form properly and just refer back to your CV you won't get past the first sort. No chance of an interview.

Having interviewed many people and selected candidates for interview many times, Failure to complete the application form correctly would mean you don't pass the prescreening obvious lies on form or CV you don't pass prescreening
etc etc

I have no idea who those two people are. You can certainly tell who watches The Apprentice and who doesn't Like I said - the only person to have reached any kind of public awareness off the back of it. It's an irrelevant game show.

If it is so irrelevant why are you bothering to comment about it. Once again you seem to think that everyone thinks the same as you, I often wonder how people like yourselves function in society thinking you are always right. You should replace public with your own awareness as that is what you are saying but your overinflated ego doesn't allow that.
