local cleaning contractors with "business address" on my street, they have 3 vans which all look very smart and all 3 usually outside of hours parked up on the street.
Walked past this morning and 2 vans present, both had "do not attempt to move" stickers on the windscreen and DVLA clamps for being non taxed.
As I came back the owner was back in the 3rd vehicle screaming at a guy from the DVLA who was trying to explain that they will take the clamps off if he taxes the vehicles. he's saying that unless they take off the clamps he will cut them off as he needs people to get to jobs, and he's calling the DVLA guy a thief and blackmailer all sorts of stuff . he's saying that without the vehicles he can't get jobs done to make the money to pay the tax on the vans. DVLA guy is patiently explaining that the tax on the vehicles is over 2 months out of date and that they give some leeway, but 2 months is too long.
what really made me chuckle is whilst this is going on a second DVLA guy has got a clamp from the back of the van and is clamping the 3rd van.

lol had to go for a walk the first 2 show insured and mot ok ( of course as I understand it driving without tax could invalidate your insurance ) the bosses van is too new to need MOT but is showing not insured, I wonder if the DVLA guys can report him for driving uninsured vehicle or is that outside their remit
