Just had a bill arrive this morning with 2 surprises
the cost per m3 for water and sewage is dropping from £3.60 to £3.30 !
however despite the charges dropping by 8% and my credit balance increasing by £12 over 6 months they want to increase my payments by 10%, so lets get this right, I've already over paying, the cost is reducing but they want to increase what I pay each month
Anyone know much about Water, Welsh Water have just told me that what they charge is set by offWat not by them, is that right

Not too sure how transparent this process is.

Then earlier in the week another letter saying charges were going down. However, while the day and night rates are going down by about 15%, the standing charge is increasing from 58p a day to 68p.

Not too sure how transparent this process is. Welsh Water ( DWR Cymru ) has been told numerous times to reduce charges. last year we all go a payment of £10 because they hadn't been truthful about leaks etc, in the last month they've been told off again. They have a scheme that helps those who can't afford the bills, but I can't get it through to some people that they have no money of their own, if it costs £100 each a year to provide water to 1100 people they only way they can reduce the charges to 100 people is to charge the rest £110.
