In the latest update, PP have said that they’re changing the hold/sell vote process. I’m probably being a bit thick but could someone kindly tell me what the implications are? I couldn’t understand what exactly they mean.
I can only imagine that the intention is to hold on to the properties for longer and milk them until they’re dry but I might be wrong.

What form will this new process take?
The new annual process will be a simple shareholder vote (hold vs sell) on whether to sell the property, with the outcome determined by a majority of voted shares.

I don't think there is an underhand motive. It is now a 1 year vote instead of 5 years and now it is a true head to head vote. Using the previous method, if the shares of minority sell voters were sold to other investors then the property was kept, if not it was sold.
It could lead to more properties being kept but until now many shareholders didn't bother to vote because the outcome was a formality. Not many properties left now.

The 5 year process meant you always had a way to sell your holding in a property at a fair price - once every 5 years.
The new process means that unless a majority want to sell, you're trapped in that investment forever - unless you want the fire-sale price available on the secondary market.
It's this new policy that has made me vote to sell almost every property I hold - some of which I would have kept for another 5 years under the previous voting system.

Depends on your POV really.
It's been a long long time since anybody has been able to sell a single share at the 5 year exit which means even if the majority voted to sell, unless every share was sold the property stayed and they were also trapped in that investment forever.
