Throwing up some interesting results
and I see Australia's captain saying that eliminating England at this stage would be good How can England not go through easy England have 2 games remaining against Oman and Nepal and need to win both to catch Scotland However Scotland's net run rate is nearly 4 better than Englands so England need to either chase targets down very quickly, or score massively and bowl out the opposition for low scores.
But the last game in the group is Australia V Scotland If Scotland are ahead of England on net run rate Australia could choose to bowl and then take their time reaching the target so Scotland don't suffer too much, or if they bat allow Scotland to get close.
in the meantime in group D South Africa 6 points from 3 games Bangladesh 2 from 2 Netherlands 2 from 2 Nepal 1 from 2 Sri Lanka 1 from 3
Pundits say Sri Lanka nearly out If they win their remaining game against Netherlands they go to 3 points Bangladesh play Netherlands and Nepal
if either Bangladesh or Netherlands wins the game between then they have 4 Points and can't be caught, a washout puts both on 3 if Bangladesh lose to Nepal then Nepal go to 3 points. a washout would eliminate Sri lanka as either NL or Bangladesh would be on 4 points Nepal also play South Africa and Sri Lanka need South Africa to win
So the best case for Sri Lanka is that going into their last game 3 teams are on 3 points above them and they thrash the Netherlands and go second in the group on run rate.
So whatever the pundits say the odds of Sri lanka going through are pretty slim
New zealand also have work to do to qualify

Did I mention that I'm struggling to find TV coverage of the tournament while on holiday in Thailand (fortunately there are other things to do).
I see the American bubble has burst, finishing the first over against India on 2 for 3 (that's 2 wickets down for 3 runs). Currently mounting a fightback at 95 for 5, led by New Zealand Somereset American star batsman Corey Anderson.
Englands biggest enemy is the weather. It stayed fine long enough for us to loose to the Aussies and Scotland to beat the mighty Oman. If either of Englands last 2 games gets rained off (or Scoctland v Aus) then we are screwed.
