Don't forget to take appropriate photo ID with you
The photo ID you show must be the original version. You cannot use a photograph, image on a phone or a photocopy of your ID.
You’ll need one of the following types of photo ID to vote:
a UK or Northern Ireland photocard driving licence (full or provisional)
a driving licence issued by an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the Isle of Man or any of the Channel Islands
a UK passport
a passport issued by an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or a Commonwealth country
a PASS card (National Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
a Blue Badge
a biometric residence permit (BRP)
a Defence Identity Card (MOD form 90)
a national identity card issued by the EU, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein
a Northern Ireland Electoral Identity Card
a Voter Authority Certificate
an Anonymous Elector’s Document
You can also use one of the following travel passes as photo ID when you vote:
an older person’s bus pass
a disabled person’s bus pass
an Oyster 60+ card
a Freedom Pass
a Scottish National Entitlement Card (NEC)
a 60 and Over Welsh Concessionary Travel Card
a Disabled Person’s Welsh Concessionary Travel Card
a Northern Ireland concessionary travel pass
The photo on your ID must look like you. You can still use your ID even if it has expired.

I was “challenged” by the poll clerk this morning. I brought a current full uk licence photo ID with me and he asked,
“is this address accurate?”
Well, I updated it to the current address about 3 months ago, is this one of the tactics to turn away voters?
Any way, I casted my vote within 60 seconds, no one else inside the polling station, empty.

Me and the wife turned up to vote 0730 ish presented our voter id document, we having no passport , driving licences yes, but still bits of green paper, still legal!!!. Big discussion can we accept this never seen one , um panic . Then ok, so I voted very disappointed no tellers outside. No opportunity to reply to the question how did you vote, standard answer in past, "with a pencil and a cross".

The requirement is photo ID I read it the same as you at first. I think what Crabby actually means he took his Voter Authority Certificate along, since his driving licence isn't photo. The VAD is what the clerks didn't recognise.

Thank god he didnt have an anonymous voting one that would have really confused them.

Never used to be queues but now there are albeit fast moving. Almost certainly due to the very annoying and somewhat anti-British requirement to show our papers and have them verified.

Which is, of course, entirely due to a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise demographics presumed less likely to vote Tory. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65599380
