4 ministers resigned this morning
he's now accepted his fate.
But the revelations of a £200,000 donation from a convicted environmental criminal.
the disclosure of him saying he was deleting messages on WhatsApp despite telling the Covid inquiry he didn't
then sacking a minister for leaking those messages, and the publication that released them saying no it wasn't her, and his refusal to disclose the evidence he used to sack her even to her.
and of course losing a vote of confidence and refusing to resign as he "only lost on a technicality" the technicality being he got less votes than the opposition, mainly due to the minister he sacked being "sick" and ditto the person who stood against him in the leadership election. But it was a technicality as if they'd voted it would be a tie and the Llywydd ( speaker ) would vote for the status quo

Questions were being asked during the election but he brushed them aside, much as he brushed aside questions from the covid inquiry ( he was health minister at the time ).
But for me the fact he lied to the covid inquiry ( as have others ) makes him unfit for high office

Should have gone when he lost the vote of no confidence.
Apparently KS was keen that he didn't go during the election campaign.

What a mess the UK is in. What have we had over the last few years?, 3 changes of first minister in Scotland, 2 in Wales, no government at all in Ireland for months and UK approx 3 prime ministers. No wonder the place is a shambles.

Hamza Yusuf lasted just over a year. Gething and Truss both lasted way under - Gething nearly four months, Truss just a month and a half. All the others have lasted a chunk longer - 21 months for Sunak (with term ended by the electorate, rather than internal shenanigans for all the others), five for Drakeford, eight for Sturgeon.

So stable they have to voluntarily change PM mid term to keep up with the neighbours and stay exciting. But 3 PMs in 18 months when the UK has had the same one ... seems like trying too hard to create instability excitement

Wait a minute, according the Beeb, someone said Starmer had “absolute” confidence in Gething and so as Milliband before the General Election despite losing vote of no confidence.
“Vaughan is a man of great integrity and leadership, a great first minister.”
Will we see more minister resignation soon?
The what if? Would they back him in June if the General Election was held in November?

Not sure that you could call it stable, 3 different Taoiseach in under 4 years isn't stable thanks to a power sharing arrangement and resignation. The government is three parties backed up by a few independents. The most favoured party and one with joint most seats not in power because they didn't enter enough candidates

Eluned Morgan has organised a meeting for 1PM tomorrow when she will make an announcement, My understanding is that she will be the only nomination, thus the new labour leader in Wales and the new FM
