Just sent me an email saying they have partnered with Nord VPN, and as a result my free trial has started.
read the blurb, It says
"Your free trial* starts today. Getting setup is easy, simply click the button below and follow the instructions."
If you wish to cancel your free trial, there are instructions at the bottom of this email.
Don't forget
The last day of your free trial is 20/09/2024.
*At the end of your trial, you will be charged £4.95 per month, this will show on your bill each month and can be cancelled at any time.
NordVPN is not tied to your broadband services with Onestream, should you ever leave Onestream for your broadband service, we will continue to provide you with your NordVPN service until such time as you instruct us to cancel it.
So even If I switch Broadband providers they will charge me until I specifically cancel it
Oh and a 2 year plan is £60 direct so ONESTREAM special offer isn't

I'd be writing a strongly worded email if I were signed up to a subscription, regardless of any free trial. Probably ask for some compensation for the effort.

Although the first sentence makes it seem like "Hey, they've signed me up already!!", the second does make it clear that it is up to YOU to take action to start the trial.
So, if you don't want this "not very special" offer, don't click the button. Don't follow the instructions. Delete, ignore, move on?
Unless they've actually signed you up WITHOUT you clicking the button, then that's just rude!

I and many others read it as we've started the trial, you need to do X,Y,Z to set the software up.
then at the end of the trial you will be charged.

HMM coincidence ?
1 day after the trial expires, my broadband goes down
I guess I should have looked deeper as onestream closes the helpdesk at 4pm on saturday and it stays closed until 9Am Monday
done all the usual stuff rebooted router etc etc
