This morning I had 4 letters, all from the same building society.
Basically each letter is for one account and tells me that the interest rate is being reduced from 30th September.
one account matures on Sunday so the change from the end of September does not affect me.
But what a waste one sheet of paper would have done the job in one envelope, anyone would think we can just waste resources.
I mean over 25 years ago I wrote a program that interacted with an enveloping machine that would put multiple sheets in a single envelope then the last one was a "seal" command so 3 sheets would be insert insert seal, and you only had headers on the front sheet.
It rather blows my mind that we still have antiquated systems over 25 years later

Simple answer - current IT professionals are of poor quality. They can’t do the simplest of things correctly.
As an example:
How many times am I presented with a bank sort code and account number to fill in without being given a keyboard with numerics? Having changed to an appropriate keyboard and inputted the two numbers, no skip to next field. Skip myself to next field, presented with no-numeric keyboard again. Repeat, repeat, repeat, …….
Who tested this? Oh, I forgot - no-one.

Just log in and switch communication preferences to paperless.

I'm paperless with my bank so don't get a lot of letters from them. Last one was notification that they had miscalculated the interest on my account, so they enclosed a cheque in the envelope for about £1.50. As I was paying it into the bank I asked the cashier why they hadn't just transfered the money electronically. She just shrugged her shoulders and said the money will be in your account tomorrow.

The horrible scroll down through the years to find my year of birth , a reminder of my mortality. Oh but the joy of If i was to be so lucky and of sufficient mental capacity to get to the bottom of a gov site and it did not go far enough. The stir I could make, I could shuffle of this mortal coil happy.

The stir I could make, I could shuffle of this mortal coil happy. That reminds me of reading one of those q&a type interviews with someone, the question was "What is the worst thing about living in the UK?" And their answer, having to scroll down to the bottom....

What a waste!
I hope it’s a good waste is a sign of profitability. One “private” bank sent me 40 page document for opening bank account.
I can’t remember Lendy, FS, Collateral sent me letters prior administration. Worse, the amount of fees being paid to “recover” money from borrowers.
