Farewell then, Justin Welby, you shall not be missed. Why do organisations, like the C of E, and the Post Office, that are primarily there to offer a service, think that employing a "business person" is going to sort out their problems? All he's done is add to them, and show once again the hypocrisy that runs through such organisations. All they are interested in at the top level is covering up and protecting the reputation of the organisation that pays their wages, they don't care about the "little people" and never have done.
There's something rotten at the heart of most British institutions, and the C of E is one of the worst.

There's something rotten at the heart of most British institutions, and the C of E is one of the worst. That doesn't really read like a reasonable reflection of Welby's career/involvement. My understanding was he worked for 11 years outside of the church before becoming ordained in 92 (or 93) i.e. over 30 years ago. He was hardly brought in to 'sought out their problems': after joining the ministry he subsequently worked his way up the church, and wasn't brought into a high position from outside as that seems to imply. The hypocrisy that runs through our primary religious establishments is endemic to them, and has been for like forever. The bringing in of people from outside hasn't really added to them because those problems are just inherent within the organisation. The culture of covering up and protecting the reputation is the intrinsic culture. And always has been. The primary function of our main religious institutions is their own preservation, self perpetuation and enrichment. Twas always so.

Well, the Church of England was initially set up as King Henry VIII couldn’t get a divorce from Roman Catholic Church for bending the rules for the king.
Anyway, I don’t dislike the service from CoE, they have developed a unique identity, blending Catholic traditions with some Protestant reforms.
TBF, I was surprised he was chosen, perhaps as a symbol for reform but it’s so hard to clean up this “holy” organisation.

You'd think that the ultimate bossman would sort all these issues out internally, wouldn't you?
(Not to mention stopping the multiple competing sales departments, across all three stops on the timeline, from killing each other over which of them's right)

This is the same Justin Welby that wanted to make Paula Vennells Bishop of London.
When the was a scandal in the Cathedral at Lincoln when the Dean effectively put 2 fingers up to the chapter when a fund raising display of the Magna Carta ended up coting the church £50,000 Then in 2019 the Bishop was suspended over inaction on historic abuse cases, at the same time the dean was also suspended, yet the Church times carried the message "she has paid a high price" - IMHO and knowing what we know now if Justin Welby saw enough evidence to suspend people it had to be very serious and obvious, or he was complicit in other cover ups.
the C of E is totally corrupt and as bad as the catholic church for covering scandals up

I don't know much about the upper echelons of the church, but I do know that the C of E primary schools by and large are safe havens for our children to be brought up in without being too influenced by the politically correct thinking of the day.
