There have ben a few comments on here recently that are factually incorrect. I want to set the record straight on those.
The Forum - it is true that I set up this forum and that AC paid the fees for the first 3 years of the forum and the domain name. However, I quickly relinquished any control to the moderators. Neither AC or I have access to the ownership panel, act as moderators or seek to control content. I will only object where there is factual inaccuracy or there is direct abuse of my staff on here. The forum is truly independent.
The FF deal - the reason for the "ban" on the public ally viewable pages was due to supposition and comment which could have either prejudiced the recovery or created a libel situation for AC and/or the forum. I highlighted this to the mods and they took the decision to create a private board where it could be discussed. AC has not banned discussion of this deal, nor would it do so. I supported their move as I did not want to have a situation where it couldn't be discussed but I also have to manage the recovery process. Anything that prejudiced that would impact directly on you the lenders.
Openness and discussion - AC openly promotes freedom of speech and discussion. We have never banned that discussion nor would we do so. There have been many times on this forum where AC has taken criticism, and rightly so. Those who know us, will know that we act on those comments and make changes where necessary. What we do not do is look to stifle the debate. The main ethos is hat it is your cash at risk, be it £10 or £100,000. I want to make sure AC does the right thing by its customers. I do not want to lose a single penny of your cash, but I know at some point there will be a loss. I can not guarantee you won't suffer a loss. All I can do is ensure we continue to do the right thing and continue to work for our lenders. Without your support and comment, AC would not be where it is today.
