Although I had a punt on the previous train set I think I will let this one pass. My principle reason is that IMO the LTV leaves far too small a margin if this loan went pear shaped and ended up chugging off to an auction. With an LTV around 50% I might just be tempted.
For the uninitiated it may be worth your while looking at the coming Vectis Model Train Auction on 20th February. However I am sure that what ever I should say or suggest this loan will fill in less than an hour.

68% is not too bad, as you say there is so little action on this account it will fill in about 12 minutes

Hi bobo. We were both wrong still only 60% full after one hour. I hope this is because a few people have done a bit of homework or perhaps they are not bothered about real value. A quick check on eBay may open a few eyes, I think?

I suspect it's more to do with it being Saturday - shopping, ballet class taxi driver duties, etc. etc.

Valuations of trains would appear to be in line with prices here www.goldenagemodels.net/index.html. Railway signs would seem to be more problematic, anywhere from £300-£5500 at specialist auction site depending no doubt on place & rarity.

You could also have a look on eBay where prices new seem to be a lot lower that quoted in the offering. Also look at prices in past auctions on Vectis.

I have, very little that compares to these, (pretty sure, we're not talking Hornby here), but stuff that does is priced in £300-

This is part of the problem we really do not know for sure what we are supposed to be lending on - whether it is gold plated or just a heap of old rust!

The trains appear to be Brass Models, which makes them specialist items with a significantly higher value than mass market products. In reality they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay at auction and that can not be easily predicted.

Going on the description 'handmade brass' which isnt your commercial Hornby plastic. I would agree that the description is poor, why not say who made them fundingsecure same as you do with cars and art work which is effectively what they are being marketed as. ,
