What is there to fix? Supply is greater than demand in 13 loans and demand is greater than supply in the rest. The only fix would be to allow price to vary to bring all markets into balance, but AC have ruled out selling at premiums for the time being. I have read here somewhere that one can can discount the price if selling, but have no idea how it is done (nor any interest at present).

I think john334 is referring to the fact that if you view the list of loans with "Units Available", it includes the ones where an untradeable amount (less than £1) is for sale. In practice that means they do not have units available and it would be better to exclude them from the list.

Aye - normally the system would sweep up these fractional amounts but it isn't at present - there does appear to be some problem like the 1.65 of D*rs*t which is available. I spoke to Dom last Friday and he nudged the developers (this has happened in the past a few times) if its still there tomorrow I'll ask him to change from nudge to poke with the sharp stick.

It's a matter of perspective, what looks like shrapnel to you looks like sensible amounts to me, I've hoovered up what I want in the last month from just a few "empty bids".

I don't think the issue is the fact that some of the bits for sale are small. The issue is that they don't seem to be saleable. When I looked at the list earlier today, there were parts available for at least half a dozen loans where my target was greater than my holding. When I refreshed the list a little while later, I was expecting to find those parts had gone, and that I might have bought some of them. In fact, they were still shown as being for sale, so something isn't working as advertised. If, in fact, the system has been tweaked so as not to bother selling microshrapnel, then it might as well be tweaked to not bother showing those bits as being for sale.

It hasn't been tweaked to not sell micro shrapnel. It's been tweaked to make sure that fractions of loan units sold always perfectly add up and that may be tripping up the allocation algorithm that tries to assign whole pence of loans but has to deal with the fractional part of a loan unit if it's the last bit listed for sale. Previously the system sold as much as it could but it was tweaked to be more strict and throw an error if it didn't add up perfectly, instead of silently correcting it. Looks like other tweaks are needed to account for this. I've got some higher priority jobs on my to do list but will try and get to this in the next week or so.

I looked at the site when I first saw paul123 's post. Without counting I saw what he saw, lots of (30+) available units including some I had a target set. It was a strange sight. Later in the day it had been corrected / corrected itself.
