I've just signed up with SS and to make a start I deposited and initial amount of £100 (step 1), I then went to my online bank and set up a payment transfer to SS for the £100. According to my bank it should be transferred within 2 hours, from my SS dashboard how will I know when the transfer has been made, at the moment my dashboard says BACS Funding Deficit: £100.00 - will this changed to zero within the next couple of hours or should I be looking elsewhere. I get a bit anxious the first time in case I haven't set up the transfer correctly. Paul

I should forget about it till Monday, and not worry. My deposit recognition has varied from a few minutes to 2 days. I think it takes manual intervention from SS. It's always got there and they now have £**k of my lolly.

Its taken up to a week for me in the past for a bank transfer to show against my account but usually it's only a couple of days. I've read here that you can email them after a couple of days and query it if there is a delay but I haven't don't so myself..

They will email you if they don't get the money, this happened to me when they must have missed my payment. So yes it is a manual system.

This is IMHO a positive feature of SS. They let you invest and start earning interest when you tell them that you are sending the money, so they are trusting you to an extent. Most (all?) other platforms will only let you invest funds which they have already received which means that you either have cash sitting idle or you risk missing out on a loan.
