I’ve resurrected this thread in view of a YouGov poll for The Times that cut the Conservative lead to 5%
Any thoughts on how to position your investment portfolio (not just P2P) in case the unthinkable should happen and we have Comrade Corbyn as PM?

Outright bet on Labour on betfair as an insurance policy?

Much easier than trying to predict second-order effects, especially for political events.
Remember the Trump victory? Dollar was meant to crash, stocks were meant to crash, gold was meant to soar if he won.
Instead, the exact opposite happened!

Dollar was meant to crash, stocks were meant to crash, gold was meant to soar if he won. Instead, the exact opposite happened! I can’t disagree with that. Personally I fail to see how Corbyn has made such progress as it’s only 3 months since the Conservatives won Copeland for the first time in 80 + years. IMO no party has made any major gaffes since then, even the noise about the Tory plans for care and the subsequent U turn was exaggerated, I would have thought that the people who would have lost most under the original proposal were unlikely to vote Labour therefore recent polls may be an anomaly.

Retain the triple lock on my pension, keep paying my Winter Champagne Allowance, and abolish University Tuition Fees for my son, I may be warming to Jezza.
Not sure that ethical foreign policy put the Great in GB but times change y'know and not terribly keen on the team of Fisher, Abbott, McDonnell, Rayner, Chakrabati, Griffith et al, but I'm sure he can sort that out once he gets his feet under the cabinet table.
Give the old duffer a go.

Steerpike America gave the old duffer a chance. Just beat up Monte Negran president to get to the front of the photo in EU summit. Son in law in pocket of Reds. Surely we couldn't make the same mistake. Now, wheres that betting shop?

I'm sure the economy will be fine under a Corbyn government. for about a year before the bill comes in.

I'm effectively on an each-way bet, as the first of my kids starts university in the autumn 😉
