At the time of writing the average deposit shown on the site is £20,422.
Anybody know if this is the mean or median average? Id assume mean but just curious.
If its the mean average, anybody know what the current median average is?

It is the mean, and only internal staff could determine the other variables for you. I'll check with the powers if I'm allowed to publish this data and post here (although I'm not an official representative I'm not totally free to say whatever I want, I'm restricted by the FCA guidance on social media). The AltFi data is on borrowers and not lenders. In my opinion though is that the mean is not really representative. It isn't a nice bell curve because although there are many "average" lenders making monthly deposits, there are low-end testers and a significant volume of lenders with large amounts (typically £100k plus and some in the £m). It also changes by market, with many high rollers and small businesses preferring the monthly market as they are using it for spare cash floats, whereas normal individuals "saving" prefer longer markets for maximum return. @ westonkevRS

Someone posted a month or 2 back that having a breakdown of lender commitments would be useful in order to assess how the masses determine risk attitude towards RS. Although in isolation, this info means very little, I suspect there is some comfort to be gained if you know for example that 10% of lenders have over a million pounds lent out whereas to the contrary, it may be a little more concerning to know that no one has over say £50K invested. I know how much I have lent but it would be nice to know if I'm in the top 10%, median or bottom 10%. I would like to see a few percentiles other than just the median. I suspect that the median is actually very much lower than the mean possibly by as much as 5 or 10 fold as many people will sign up to "test the water" but not persue further deposits. I know of a couple of those myself. Trying to convince them that 10 mins per week effort to optimise your savings return is time well spent just falls on deaf ears.

Thanks for the reply Kev.
As I suspected, its the mean. Like you though, I believe that median figure would be more illustrative. If its at all possible, could you post the info here? No worries if this isn't possible for whatever reason.
