For me it's like a tonic every time I come up upon a new name ridiculing FC. I would like to congratulate all forum members for their creativity. And here I come with the idea of a special thread where we can register all other quirky names that come up on the forum.

More apt thread title too, suitably obscure p2pindependentforum.com/post/40680/threadNeeds updating though

Ha ha , thanks, found a few that I have missed ! Some pretty harsh ones but let's hope they won't give us many reasons to unleash the full capacity of our imagination & irony.

After last night's in depth stunning expose surely 'Flattened Cornets' should be added to the list

Can you use 'in depth', 'stunning' and 'expose' w.r.t. a Channel 4 program?!?!. Surely the trades description act prohibits?!

It was a style of programming that was flashy and superficial like a comic; I stopped watching after 2 mins. Martin Lewis' series went the same way - the producers turned him into a clown. Are there so many programmes like this because the media think that most viewers are dumb?

Yes, watch the adverts to see what is considered necessary to attract attention and how to speak down to the viewer.

Yes, watch the adverts to see what is considered necessary to attract attention and how to speak down to the viewer. Must I? We're giving serious thought to just not having a TV any more. If our broadband wasn't quite so lethargic (1.5meg on a good day), out here in ruralshire, it'd be a no-brainer.

Indeed .. Tv used to occasionally be educational (remember the early travel and nature program anyone? Back when presenters were allowed to be experts rather than 'celebs'). Now it is almost all 'bread and circuses'. Move over Roman empire, here we come. 8<.

David Attenborough was always the exception. He was often not even in camera for the whole episode; no stupid music or other unnecessary sound tracks; no fast cut graphics or other Flashy Comix. He can do it like this because he is the producer as well as presenter.

And here I come with the idea of a special thread where we can register all other quirky names that come up on the forum. Here is a list of other FC names, I apologise now if I've missed any off. Quick summary... 308 different names found up to 18:00 on 2/7/15. Top 5 contributors: stevet 40, GSV3MIaC 36, oldgrumpy 30, blender 29, adrianc 22. I hope the attached file opens up!
