"Given E**** past history and everything that goes with it how the heck could FC claim to have done any DueDil at all on this loan!"
If they did, and didn't find this public information, oh dear, FC!!!
If they didn't, oh dear, FC!!!
If they did, and chose not to tell lenders about it, BIG oh dear, FC!!!
Basically, OH DEAR, FC!!!
More fool me. Only £20 but I was going to keep it 4-6 months then sell. I wonder when we will get news of today's phone call explaining why Mr * was unable to pay for the fifth time. I bet "he was unavailable" and "WACTCTB".
In my view 3032 has to be the example par excellence of incompetence on the part of FC in launching this £100,000 loan particularly with all this negative information in the public domain. However my thoughts are beginning to drift more in the direction of rip off, because that is how I now feel. Given that FC have at least a duty of trust towards their lenders could they be sued in this particular case for negligence? Could I drift down to the Small Claims Court on Monday morning, pay my £17 and sue the bu**ers and what if the other couple of hundred investors who feel conned did the same thing? Alternatively perhaps FC could as a gesture of good will pay us back out money? What would you do? I'd love to know.
Finally think I might just put pen to paper outlining my very hurt feelings and sent it to the FCA.
I sold this loan but I would certainly support you Merlin at the Small Claims court together with action against Stale F*rt aka B***th of Foul A*r.

Dear Jumbo .. thanks for fixing it, and sorry for making extra work for y'all. May I add my apologies as well as I think it was me that first did the naming bit having first mentioned the relevant article in the press. Never knowingly named anyone before and will try not to do so in the future.
Up till now we have always called loan 3032 the "Crappy Scrappy" but now with the new found information about him why don't we change the name to the "Criminal Scrappy" as it would seem to be rather more appropriate?
My guess is that there is going to be a lot more discussion about Criminal Scrappy so I for one will try to keep it "clean".

Or maybe the "You Can Make Muck From Brass Crappy Scrappy".

Or maybe the "You Can Make Muck From Brass Crappy Scrappy". Very apposite but perhaps a bit long. Although much better than my offering.

Yes, most definitely too long. Though I have to admit to a slight sense of smugness with having come up with that particular concoction/play. But then I'm easily amused.

This thread was discussing and monitoring FC's changing policy on defaulting our late loans. It seems to have descended into discussing the finer points of vulgar abuse of one lender. Not good for the forum, however well deserved it might be. How about a separate thread for the 'crappy scrappy', which is abusive enough but fits with FC's naming of loans?

There are a small number of business failures, or business cheats on FC, but as far as I can tell a widely diversified portfolio will earn a decent return overall. Is some of the grousing because - Lenders have over committed to a particular loan - Loan traders left holding an excess of unsellable loan parts. Anyone who buys a loans intending to sell them on is effectively taking a business risk over and above the investment risk involved in building a diversified portfolio.

I'm almost disappointed that I haven't got any Crappy Scrappy. I can't join in! Bugger off and start your own thread!

The answer to most of your questions is an emphatic, NO. Most of us who have a gripe are long term investors in FC who feel we are now getting a bad deal when compare to other P2P offerings. In particular absolutely appalling level of DueDil carried out by DD as exemplified by loan 3023 the Crappy Scrappy. Total lack of response to reasonable questions put to FC by investors. Totally inadequate attempts at recovering losses when loans default. I could go on but these three are IMO the most relevant.
