I agree about the direction of travel, but I don't think the current p2b players in the UK can achieve anything like that level of penetration. If the report is even half right this must imply some big new entrants, either from the US or new startups. I also think it will take longer than 5 years to get there.
If this forum is still here in 2020 (not long really) it will be interesting to look back and see what's happened!

Hargreaves Lansdown have already said that they are entering, Goldman are entering the US market, there seems to be a new investment fund announcement every week. Apple were late entries into the MP3 player market and the smart phone market, they just threw some money at it and did a better job. I too think that it will be interesting to look back in five years as the landscape might be quite different.
